What a fun morning!

Well done Room 13 for trying your very best.

A big congratulations to Ella and Riley! 
Ella came 1st in the Year 1 Girls sprints.

Riley came 3rd in the Year 1 Boys sprints.

Howick Historical Village

Howick Historical Village

Room 13 had a fabulous morning at Howick Historical Village. We went back in time to the 1800s. We played outside games, looked at the old toys, went to the school house and walked through some of the houses and shops.

We played 'Graces" a popular game with boys and girls in the 1800s

Most of the games we played were made from wood

 We had to bow and curtsey when we said 'Good morning" to the teachers.

Art of Aotearoa Exhibition

Room 13 went to the school hall to have a look at the fabulous artwork, done by the children at VAS. 

Room 13 have been looking at the work of illustrator Elizabeth Fuller. She has brought to life the loveable bear in the stories by Diane Noonan. We have focused on blending and shading with coloured pencils to add texture and character to our bears.

Room 13 have been learning about Fractions

We made some paper Pizzas and cut them into halves, quarters and thirds.

Then we made real pizzas, which were delicious!
